K9 Advantix for dogs is a topical treatment for removing fleas. This treatment is applied once every 30 days. Applied properly, it will eliminate 98% to 100% of fleas in a span of 12 hours. The K9 is made for dogs weighing 21 to 55 lbs and 7 seven weeks or older.
What the Product Can Do
The product is water resistant. The package has half a dozen doses included, good for six months’ protection. This product is designed to prevent fleas from spreading. If the fleas spread, it could lead to serious health problems. Health complications that may arise from fleas include tapeworms, anemia and skin infections.
By applying the treatment once every month, flea bites will cease to be a problem. Because the fleas are killed, egg production will cease. The larvae are also prevented from hatching. This means the flea life cycle will terminate. This puts an end to the infestation.
Other Features
This topical treatment can also eliminate ticks before they can get near to the animal. It also acts as a repellant against mosquitoes. If used throughout the year, it will keep the fleas from overwintering in your property.
The treatment still remains in effect even when the dog is bathed. Sunlight exposure or dipping in water does not reduce the affectivity of the product either; you do not have to re-apply the treatment.
How to Apply K9 Advantix for Dogs
Part the hair at the shoulder blades. The product has to be applied on the skin. If the dog is less than 20 lbs pour the whole contents of the applicator on one spot. If the dog weighs more than 20 lbs, apply in 3 spots beginning at the shoulder blades.
Product Information
The treatment has 8.8% imidacloprid, 44.0% permethrin and the other ingredients comprise the remaining 47.2%. Put the hair back in place over the spots you poured the treatment on. Do not touch your pet on the areas you applied treatment on for several minutes. The product is available in various sizes.
